FAQ
- How does ThermoAlarm work?
- Set a temperature condition (above, below, or between a range), pick a location and time window, and ThermoAlarm checks the forecast during that window. When conditions are met, you get alerted.
- Where does the weather data come from?
- All weather data comes from the National Weather Service (weather.gov). It's free, reliable, and covers all US locations.
- Why is it US only?
- The NWS API only provides data for US locations. International support may be considered in future updates.
- Do I need an account?
- No. ThermoAlarm works entirely on your device with no account or sign-up required.
- Why does the app need location access?
- Location is used to fetch weather data for your area. You can also manually search for any US city or ZIP code instead.
- Why does the app need notification permission?
- Notifications are how alarms alert you when temperature conditions are met. Without notification permission, alarms cannot fire.
- Can I use custom alarm sounds?
- Yes. In the alarm creation screen or in Settings, you can upload your own audio files to use as alarm sounds.
